Fredericton Inn

The Fredericton Inn, located at 1315 Regent Street in Fredericton, NB, has been a staple in the

city since the Waite family built it in 1978.  The hotel is now owned by the Steele Hotel Group out of Newfoundland, and the hotel is their 8th property and only property off the island, and it has undergone renovations since Steele took over.  Robert Waite, John Waite’s (who was the previous owner) is the GM of the property, and he has a strong connection to the hotel. 

                The hotel is located near plenty of shops and restaurants and is only a 10-minute drive to the downtown core. One of, if not the oldest Cathedrals in Canada is located downtown near the river, where people will also find easily accessible walking trails.  The Bill Thorp Walking Bridge, located near Christ Church Cathedral, allows people to walk from the south side to the north side in a matter of 15 minutes.  There are also numerous pubs, restaurants and shops located downtown. 

                 The Regent Mall is located directly next to the hotel, and the mall offers plenty of shops, a food court, as well as a movie theatre for those who enjoy film.  There is the  Uptown Centre located on the other side of the highway on Prospect Street, which offers more front-facing shopping centres as well as a fitness gym and Sobeys for groceries.  Odell Park is accessible from Prospect Street by going  through the Botanical Gardens located just off Prospect Street.

                The hotel offers 199 rooms, the second largest in the city.  It also offers free parking and Wi-Fi, and they are pet-friendly (for a fee, of course).  They offer two restaurants for breakfast, lunch and supper, as well as a heated in-ground pool, hot tub and a small fitness centre.

                 To book your room, please call them directly at 1-506-455-1430 and ask for the Maritime Mega VII group rate.  They will need your first and last name, as well as a contact phone number, valid credit card to guarantee the room and an e-mail address to forward the confirmation of reservation.  The rate for Maritime Mega VII is $189 + tax, and includes breakfast.

                The check-in time starts at 3 PM and the check-out time is at 11 AM.  At the time of check-in, they require a valid photo ID as well as a valid credit card for authorization of the nights you are staying, as well as an extra $100 for incidentals.  At the time of check-out, they process the charge as a post-authorization for the charges incurred; if nothing has been put toward the extra $100 (meals, etc) it will be released at the time of check-out.
